The event to promote Vietnam destinations in China and celebrate the 30th anniversary of the flight route between the two countries was co-organized by tour operator SaigonTourist and Vietnam Airlines, and took place on April 9, 2024 in Beijing, China.
It should be noted that these countries have great cultural and historical wealth, and also have Wonders of the World. Tourists from all over visit Vietnam and tour Ha Long Bay – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature since 2011. And the same thing happens in China, where millions of tourists visit the Great Wall of China, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World since 2007.
The event marking the 30th anniversary of the air route linking China and Vietnam was attended by Chairman of the National Legislative Assembly of Vietnam Vuong Dinh Hue, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, senior government officials and leaders of localities in Vietnam. and China, as well as tourism entrepreneurs.
On the occasion, Saigont Tourist Travel Services Company (authorized by Saigont Tourist Group, the most important tour operator in Vietnam), and Vietnam Airlines, signed cooperation agreements with important Chinese companies such as Shanghai Boxi Aviation Technology and Beijing Cosmo Travel International Co. Ltd. .The parties will cooperate on charter flight services provided by Vietnam Airlines; car rental; in the organization of events, festivals and tourism fairs in Vietnam and China.
Pham Huy Binh, president of SaigonTourist Group, said that with these programs launching Vietnam destinations in the Chinese market, the group focuses on connecting and developing two-way tourism and services between Vietnam and China. “In particular, we exploit opportunities to connect and expand the luxury traveler segment and the MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions) segment, in the Chinese market that has billions of inhabitants” he indicated.
Dang Ngoc HOA, President of Vietnam Airlines, shared that the airline is operating flights from Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City to Chinese destinations such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, with a total of 66 flights per week. And he recalled that for 30 years the airline has connected the two countries, Vietnam Airlines served almost 12 million passengers and more than 166,000 tons of goods on flights.
The event marks a new step of development in the comprehensive strategic partnership between Saigont Tourist Group and Vietnam Airlines, continuing successful cooperation activities implemented recently.
For decades, China has been an important international tourist source market for Vietnam Tourism and Saigontourist Group. According to statistics, in the first 3 months of 2024, there were 890,000 Chinese tourist arrivals in Vietnam, an increase of 534.5% compared to the same period in 2023.
