With more than two decades in the industry, the economic airline Wizz Air will offer flights from India to Europe at a price possibly as low as INR 10,000 per way, which would be about 100 Euros.

The Hungarian airline Wizz Air aims to revolutionize the Indian markets, where it will offer lower fares on a series of routes. The airline is ready to acquire the Airbus A321XLR (a long-range version of the A321 aircraft) in 2025, which has the necessary range to connect India with a series of European cities at cheap rates, something that the current Wizz Air fleet still cannot offer.

If regulatory approvals in India and Europe develop smoothly, the airline should operate flights for the next year.

The objective of these flights is to boost tourism, in that sense, one of the places that would benefit more is the Taj Mahal, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, where millions of tourists already arrive every year.

With more than two decades of experience, Wizz Air is a well-established airline that operates in 50 countries through a network of 750 routes. The airline’s fleet, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, includes 210 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, and 48 A321 XLR aircraft are soon planned to be added. The A321 XLR aircraft can fly non-stop for up to eight hours.

In addition to connecting Indian and European cities, the airline plans to offer flight services between India and Abu Dhabi.

The CEO of Wizz Air, József Váradi, told CNBC that he believes that his competitive fares, compared to the existing high-cost direct flights between India and Europe, will change the rules of the game for travelers. Initially, the airline will connect India with about six or seven European cities. Váradi estimates that the rates could go down to 100 euros (9,029.07 INR).

However, many approvals are needed before travelers get the benefits that Wizz Air promises. The airline actively participates in talks with regulatory authorities in both India and Europe.

Like Wizz Air, the low-cost airline Indigo also intends to acquire the A321XLR plane and launch similar and economical flights to Europe from India.
