This Monday, July 22, the Iguazu Falls, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, received the tourist 1 million who arrived from the city of Espírito Santo (Brazil) with her family.
Livia came from Espírito Santo with her daughter Manuela and her husband Rodrigo to visit the Iguazú Falls and arrived this Monday, July 22 around 1 p.m., becoming the 1,000,000th visitor of 2024. Interestingly, last year, the park recorded the same figure on the same date, celebrating the feat on July 22, 2023.
On her first visit to the Iguazú Falls, Livia Rodrigues indicated “what a wonderful surprise, we couldn’t imagine this. We were late, I thought we couldn’t get in and we received this incredible gift. This vacation has become part of my family history, I will never forget it. I thank you all for everything. The experience we had was the best of all.”
To make the visit of the Rodrigues family even better, the lucky ones won a combo with all the experiences of the park. Among the prizes to enjoy with the family were: 3-Day Passport, Sunrise in the Falls, Sunset in the Falls, Night in the Falls with dinner, Bike Poço Preto, Lunch at the Porto Canoas Restaurant, Boat Trip Macuco Safari and VIP Pass bracelets.
Giuliano Gavazzoni, administrative and financial director of Urbia Cataratas, concessionaire responsible for managing the tourist visit of the park, said “this is a very important mark to measure the visit and the expectation for a very strong second semester, that we can overcome what we have already done. It is also a very special moment, especially since the park won the TripAdvisor award as the main attraction of Latin America and Brazil.”
Of the first million visitors of the year, the majority are Brazilian, representing 59% of visits. The remaining 41% is made up of foreigners of 167 nationalities, totaling 409,402 people. The countries that visited the most, after Brazil, were: Argentina, the United States, Paraguay, France, Germany, Spain, Chile, Peru and England.
