German tourists

In 2023, Germany was the best country of origin for travelers to Italy, with approximately 12.5 million visitors, which represents 14.5% of the international total.

From January to May 2024, almost 187,000 passengers from the airport arrived in Italy from Germany, an increase of 4.2% since 2023. The peak was at the end of April due to spring break, with notable destinations including Rome, Milan and Venice.

For the summer quarter, 50,000 airline reservations are expected from Germany, an increase of 21.5% compared to last year, with Rome being the main destination.

Value-conscious travelers: the increase in costs is making travelers more aware of the budget. They look for deals, using travel tricks and potentially opting for shoulder stations to avoid maximum prices.
