The third installment of the movie Paddington is an exciting adventure in Peru that will reach the Peruvian cinemas in Latin America on January 1, 2025.
After 6 years, Paddington is back, the new installment of the most famous bear in the world tells the story of his return to his native country, Peru, to visit his aunt Lucy, who now resides at home for retired bears. Together with the Brown family, an exciting adventure begins.
“Paddington in Peru” is a production of Studio Canal (United Kingdom). It is directed by Dougal Wilson and based on the English children’s story “a bear named Paddington”, by the writer Michael Bond. The first two cinematographic deliveries were a success at the international box office, raising about 500 million dollars.
Starring the renowned actors Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas, “Paddington in Peru” promises to be an unmissable adventure for families. It will be released in the cinemas of the United Kingdom on November 8 and, in Latin America on January 1, 2025.
Places where it was filmed
The filming of the film used iconic places in Lima and Cusco. In the capital, the chosen locations were the Historic Center (including the Plaza Mayor) and the Malecon of Miraflores. In Cusco, the filming took place in one of the New 7 Wonders of the World: the Machu Picchu, in this way scenes were held in the National Archaeological Park of Machupicchu, the town of Machupicchu and the Huayna Picchu mountain.
It is important to note that, through Film Peru, a service that is part of the Promperú strategy to promote the country as a destination for film locations, assistance was provided for filming in Lima and Cusco. This work included an institutional coordination work with public and private entities to obtain filming and drone use permits. Likewise, accompaniment and guidance was given in the process of 26 visas for the filming unit that worked in Peru.
In recent years, Film Peru has provided assistance to international audiovisual productions such as Dora and the Lost City, Transformers: The Awakening of Beasts, Street Food Latin America, Down to Earth With Zack Efron, the Queen of the South, among others.
