Celebrating Love produced an important movement around the world, not only did the demands for flights and trains increase, but also hotel and gastronomic reservations. Commerce also had its profits, since flowers and chocolates led sales on Valentine’s Day weekend.
In Europe, according to data from Atrápalo, holiday leisure reservations for this date increased in 2025 by 25% compared to the previous year. This increase – which could be reissued this year – reflects the importance of Valentine’s Day as an opportunity for couples to enjoy a romantic getaway and discover new tourist destinations together.
Among the most chosen European cities on Valentine’s Day is Rome, the eternal city of romance. With its combination of history, art and gastronomy, Rome occupies a prominent place on the TUI list. From the Roman Colosseum – one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, to the Trevi Fountain, the city offers iconic settings for memorable moments.
For Valentine’s Day, traditional restaurants offered special menus, there were flower and chocolate offerings everywhere and street shows. In addition, the lovebirds chose other classics such as Venice, Florence, Paris, Barcelona and others.
Heathrow Airport in England recorded a nearly 12% increase in the number of passengers flying to North America and a significant 17% increase in routes to New York compared to the same period last year. While for European routes there was an increase of almost 20% more travelers will go to different destinations to celebrate love.
In Spain, meanwhile, they assured from the tourism and commerce sector, that the celebration of Valentine’s Day or Valentine’s Day has already become an essential date in the calendar of hotel and tourist reservations, to the point that it breaks the seasonality to rise to figures more typical of the high season but in the month of February.

The province of Alicante recorded an average occupancy of 89%, driven by national tourism, which represents 57.3% of the total, compared to 42.7% of international visitors.

In Hanoi- Vietnam, near the Bay of Ha Long Bay – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature – the Department of Tourism encouraged hotels in the Vietnamese capital to plan attractive accommodation and gastronomy programs to stimulate tourism in the segment of luxury customers on the occasion of celebrating love on Valentine’s Day.
In this context, they offered interesting special and romantic proposals for tourists who mobilized on Valentine’s weekend.
Hanoi currently has 3,761 accommodation establishments with 71,256 rooms, including up to 91 hotels and 1 to 5 star apartment complexes with a total of 12,147 rooms.

The celebration of Valentine’s Day considerably boosted the commercial movement in sectors such as hotels, restaurants and entertainment services, reflecting an outstanding growth compared to the previous year in Peru.
The surprise trip trend is growing in Peru, because it allows travelers to discover their destination only days before departure, combining emotion with affordable rates.
Travel platforms have reported an increase in the demand for tourist packages from 199 dollars per person that includes airfare + accommodation, positioning themselves as an attractive and economical alternative to traditional trips. And one of the favorite places to visit was Machu Picchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, located in Peru.
In Mexico and according to Airbnb, searches for accommodation in certain national destinations reached new levels, with a particular preference for group trips.

This trend suggests that, beyond the traditional romantic getaways as a couple, many groups of friends or groups of couples are choosing to celebrate together, strengthening ties and sharing experiences.
According to internal data from the platform, the most sought-after national destinations in Mexico in 2025 for Valentine’s weekend were: Mérida, Yucatan (where Chichén Itzá, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World is located)- Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco- Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo- Acapulco, Guerrero- Mazamitla, Jalisco- Cancun, Quintana Roo.
In Argentina they led the romantic getaways to different places such as Buenos Aires, Puerto Iguazú (where the Iguazú Falls are located – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature), and beach destinations, among others.
The restaurants that offered special services for that date were also in great demand in order to celebrate love.
