Mariana Eder – Marketing Manager of Amazonas Tour – Brazil – highlighted that they are very happy with the resumption of the air route that connects Manaus-Brazil with Lisbon-Portugal, “with this flight we are connecting the Amazon directly with Europe, it is sensational” she indicated.
TAP Portugal resumed flights between Lisbon and Manaus, capital of Brazil’s Amazonas state, late last year.
The route is carried out with an aircraft with capacity for 154 passengers, of which 138 are in Economy class and 16 in Business class. And the flight lasts about 11 hours and 45 minutes with a stopover in Belém. TAP flies between Lisbon and Manaus on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays,
This air company had already flown this route between 2014 and 2016, so the resumption of flights is a cause for joy among the inhabitants of the Amazon region, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
“We are delighted to resume flights to Manaus, which is a gateway to the rich biodiversity of the Amazon. This connection reaffirms our commitment to Brazil, offering new opportunities for European travelers to get to know the region and for Brazilians to have another direct channel of access to Europe,” said Luís Rodrigues, President of TAP upon resuming this air route.
TAP Air Portugal is the airline that flies the most between Europe and Brazil, with almost 100 weekly flights to 13 Brazilian capitals.
Amazon, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature

He also stated that “since the Amazon is one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, people are more aware of the care of nature and the environment, and as a state tourism entity we are concerned about sustainability in tourist attractions, because the tourist himself seeks more conscious tourism, wants meaningful experiences and wants to see that what he is consuming is transformed into a benefit for the community and for nature. That is why we seek to promote places that work with sustainability, to maintain our Wonder of Nature. which is the jungle.”
Mariana Eder also said that “since the Amazon is one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, we notice more interest in the Amazon destination. In all the fairs and promotional places that we participate, we notice that people are very interested in getting to know this Wonder of Nature, there is a lot of demand and it continues to increase.”
Regarding what tourists find when they visit the Amazon, he explained “we offer significant experiences, such as visiting indigenous communities to learn about their dances, rituals and so on, and we also offer many adventure tourism activities, among other things, we have many interesting and original activities for those who visit us.”
