The spring flower that represents the island of Jeju is rapeseed. The rapeseed flower road was designated as one of the “100 most beautiful roads in Korea” and can be seen at this time of year, when it is spring in the country. The inhabitants of the place assure that April is the month of its maximum splendor.

It is a stretch of 10 kilometers at the beginning of the Gasi-ri village of Seogwipo, located on the Jeju Island – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the world.

Every year the rapeseed flower begins to sprout on both sides of the road, whose extension is really a spectacle for tourists who arrive at the place.

Rapeseed Flower Festival

In this context, the Seogwipo Rapeseed Flower Festival is celebrated, which allows you to enjoy rapeseed and cherry blossoms at the same time.

This year, the festival lasts two days: March 29 and 30. In the central stretch of the Noksan-ro road, an activity park with pony horses will be opened.

Jeju Island

Jeju Island is located south of the Korean peninsula and was formed as a result of volcanic eruptions. This feature gives it exclusive volcanic landscapes, making it what is known as an authentic Volcanic Museum.

The island has about 360 mountains of various sizes and 160 underground lava caves.

Jeju has been recognized on several occasions: in 2002 as a Biosphere Reserve, in 2007 as a World Natural Heritage site, in 2010 as a World Geological Park. And since November 2011 it is part of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

Since Jeju Island was voted Wonder, tourism in Jeju has grown exponentially. An example of this is that the air route from Seoul to Jeju has become the route with the largest passenger volume in the world.
