From this month of June 2025, China will implement a visa exemption policy for citizens of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru and Uruguay, valid until May 31, 2026, in a one-year trial period, as confirmed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Lin Jian.
The measure will allow holders of ordinary passports to enter without a visa for business reasons, family visits, exchanges, transit or tourism, with a 30-day stay limit.
In this context, they highlighted that tourism is strengthened in China with these actions, being one of the most visited places, the impressive Great Wall, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.
“We welcome more foreign friends to take advantage of visa exemption and facilitation policies to visit China more frequently,” Lin said, noting that China will continue to open up at a high level and will adopt new measures to facilitate international exchanges.
This policy seeks to strengthen ties with Latin America and align these countries with European and Asian nations such as Japan and South Korea, whose citizens already enjoy visa-free travel to China.
The announcement was made after a high-level forum held in Beijing, where President Xi Jinping promised greater investments and a $9 billion credit line for Latin America and the Caribbean.
