July 7 is the official Day of the New 7 Wonders of the World, remembering that on July 7, 2007, the New 7 Wonders of the World, were chosen by millions of votes around the planet, these are: Chichen Itza in Mexico, the Colosseum in Italy, Cristo Redentor in Brazil, the Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu in Peru, Petra in Jordan and the Taj Mahal in India.
In the campaign organized by the New 7 Wonders Foundation, led by its President and Founder Bernard Weber, over 100 million votes from all over the world were counted.
In the selection, human-made structures until 2000 were admitted, on the condition that they were standing today. The results were announced on July 7, 2007, at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon-Portugal, in a historic celebration, broadcast live across the entire world.
18 years after this nomination, authorities and the private sector of each of these chosen places, assure that since this election, the aforementioned sites have been better positioned globally, which ensured them not only more visits but also greater investments, more development, more employment and a remarkable awareness of environmental care.
On this special day, Jean Paul de la Fuente- Director of the New7Wonders Foundation- expressed “what we are doing for 7 Wonders Day in 2025 is using the power of AI for a positive idea: to help us show the symbolic connection between generations. With this, we honour and celebrate the official New 7 Wonders of the World and the New7Wonders global movement, with a symbolic passing of a “7” between the a person from the original times of each Wonder to someone from today, a worldwide connection between past, present and future”.
