With a vibrant day full of music, dance and traditional expressions, Peru celebrated its National Day on August 9 in its pavilion of the Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai. The artistic proposal prepared for this occasion included a variety of cultural presentations that sought to show the Japanese and international public the artistic diversity existing in Peru.

During the Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, the Peru Pavilion offers attendees a multisensory journey through ancient civilizations such as Machu Picchu – one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, gastronomic tastings and cultural experiences, showing the country’s diversity in tourism, agriculture, textiles, crafts and gastronomy.

Under the slogan “Infinitas Posibilidades”, more than 750,000 visitors have been able to get to know the cultural, tourist, historical and natural richness of the country, through a proposal that integrates tradition, innovation and sustainability.

It should be noted that National Days are dates dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the participation of countries and organizations in the Expo. With music, traditional dances and an outstanding display of the warmth of its people, Peru offered authorities and the international public an immersive experience in the cultural richness of the country.

A vibrant parade ran through the wooden ring of the Expo, as a central part of the celebrations. The presentation was in charge of the National Folkloric Ballet of Peru, which deployed a delegation of 30 dancers wearing traditional typical costumes adorned with wichis (Peruvian pompoms used in festive costumes).

Later, the public enjoyed a colorful staging of traditional dances from the coast, mountains and jungle, and with Tony and Mimy Succar, who captivated with their musical talent, showing off with the Peru Brand in a celebration that highlighted the cultural and artistic richness of the country.

The celebration for National Day was attended by the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte Zegarra, who headed the Peruvian delegation together with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Úrsula Desilú León Chempén.

Opportunities in Asia continue to grow

Through its participation in the Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, Peru consolidated its presence in Asian markets by promoting its exportable and tourist offer. In that framework, PROMPERÚ organized two business rounds in Osaka, one for exports and the other for tourism, which connected Peruvian clothing, decoration and agribusiness companies, as well as destinations and tour operators, with important buyers in the region.

In both meetings, held simultaneously on August 8, a Peruvian delegation, made up of 20 exporting companies and 13 representatives of the tourism sector, held business meetings with buyers from Japan, China, South Korea, India and Taiwan, boosting the visibility and positioning of our country in the dynamic Asian market.
