The BAP Unión is a sailing school of the Peruvian Navy, built in the country between 2012 and 2015. He is an itinerant ambassador who promotes Peruvian culture and products in the world, in addition to serving as a training center for future sailors.

In this context, between August 20 and 24, the Dutch public enjoyed gastronomic, tourist and cultural activities in the largest nautical event in the world thanks to Casa Perú.

As part of its 178-day international route, the B.A.P. “Union” arrived in the capital of the Netherlands to participate in the Sail Amsterdam 2025. In the place, the training ship impressed with its majesty more than 50,000 visitors for 5 days, setting a record in terms of number of visits during its international tour.

The B.A.P. “Unión” not only stood out as one of the most brilliant figures of the largest nautical event globally, but also fulfilled a fundamental role as a cultural ambassador through Casa Perú, bringing the historical, cultural and gastronomic richness of the country closer to the Dutch public.

During his stay in this European country, Casa Perú was a showcase of the country’s diversity. Visitors were able to explore the Peruvian export offer and get to know products such as Peruvian superfoods, specialty coffees, pisco and alpaca fibers. Typical dance presentations were made that dazzled the spectators.

And the varied Peruvian tourist offer was also shown, where visitors of the training ship, internalized the favorite places of tourists in Peru, such as the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. And among others, the city of Loreto, where tours of the Amazon River are offered – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

Likewise, two actions were carried out that reinforced the presence of the Peru Brand. The first was a high-level gastronomic experience, in which the guests enjoyed a tasting menu inspired by the coast, mountains and Amazon of Peru, accompanied by a pairing based on the flagship drink: pisco.

The second experience was focused on highlighting Peruvian fashion through a master class of Peruvian textiles and sustainable artisanal development that sought to make visible the Alpaca sectoral brand of Peru. In this session, the attendees learned about the value of natural fibers such as alpaca, ancestral weaving techniques and their integration with contemporary design.

The participation of the B.A.P. “Union” in this international event was carried out as part of the celebrations for the 200 years of relations between Peru and the Netherlands. The actions carried out during your stay are part of the work of PromPerú and the Commercial Office in Rotterdam, in coordination with Mincetur, and aim to continue strengthening Peru’s positioning in the Netherlands, thus contributing to the promotion of receptive tourism towards the country.
