On Friday, August 22, the Iguazu Falls, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the world, received a tourist one million, two months earlier than in 2024. The largest percentage of tourists are nationals and between 25 and 28% are international tourists.

This growth reflects the strong positioning of the destination and the articulated work between the public sector, the private sector and the local community.

In this regard, Carol Da Rosa – general manager of Iguazú Argentina S.A (concessionaire of the Iguazú Falls area) – said that “for us the tourist one million is the reward of a lot of work and effort to always offer the best in a destination of impressive nature, this is the achievement of a joint work between the public and private sector.”

And he added “thanks to that synergy we can have a Park with so many services, activities and comforts, so visitors need two days to tour it and enjoy everything that is available, and even night activities are offered, such as the Paseo de la Luna that takes place every month in full moon.”

He also said that “there are more than 300 people devoted to the service and attention of the tourist, we always try that those who visit us enjoy and have a pleasant experience. For us it is very pleasant to see people leave the Park excited, it fills our souls with joy to know that they leave happy with what they have experienced.”

New 7 Wonders Certificates

Since July, the Iguazú National Park offers its visitors the possibility of obtaining an official personalized, collectible certificate that accredits their visit and is issued by the prestigious international foundation New7Wonders.

In reference to the official Certificate of New 7 Wonders, the general manager of Iguazú Argentina S.A said “the Certificate is very chosen by visitors, especially those who are collectors, it is a reminder that they were visiting one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the World. It is personalized, goes with the name of the tourist who acquires it and is also cumulative, because people who visit other Wonders of the World can also obtain the certificates of the other Wonders until they complete the entire collection.”

And he stressed “we always invite visitors to take this reminder because it is very valuable and special.”

For his part, Jean Paul de la Fuente, Director of the New7Wonders Foundation, stressed that “the official New7Wonders certificates are the symbolic record of the visit to one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, in this case, the Iguazu Falls. It is not only a memory, but also a testimony of the participation in the creation of history!”

More of the Park in this 2025

On the other hand, Carol Da Rosa commented that they continue with the improvement and enhancement works in the Iguazú National Park.

Among them he mentioned the investment they made this year for the infrastructure of the ecological train railway tracks, the improvements in the common spaces, commercial premises and energy efficiency.

“They are works that represent greater comforts for visitors and better spaces for rest and enjoyment,” he said.

Finally, the owner of Iguazú Argentina S.A. expressed “we invite everyone to visit the Iguazú Falls, this is an accessible nature space, with 90% accessibility for everyone. It is an incredible place full of life and energy, there is a lot to do, to enjoy and travel.”

And he recalled that “inside the Park people can access the ecological train as many times as they want, to move from one point to another, without paying an additional cost because this service is included in the entrance ticket.”

He also said that “beyond the Iguazú Falls, in the city of Puerto Iguazu there are more than 30 attractions to know, all very beautiful and interesting, there is an excellent hotel, gastronomic and nightlife proposal, in a pleasant and safe environment, which is undoubtedly offered to enjoy an unforgettable stay.”

The Iguazú National Park, cradle of the Iguazú Falls, has about 275 jumps surrounded by exuberant nature and biodiversity. This attraction is located on the border of Argentina and Brazil, 80% of the jumps belong to Argentina and 20% to Brazil. The place is open 365 days a year from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
