With an estimated business potential of USD 4.5 million, Peru successfully completed its participation in the international fair IFTM 2025, reported the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru). The event, held in Paris from September 23 to 25, brought together the main players of the French tourism chain and represented a valuable opportunity to promote the Peruvian tourism offer in the competitive European market.
Through the presence of PromPerú and a delegation composed of 12 Peruvian companies in the sector, it was possible to capture the attention of the French professional public interested in unique experiences linked to the segments of adventure, culture, nature, community tourism and gastronomy. During the fair, 379 commercial events were held that generated new business opportunities and allowed to train French professionals with updated and differentiated information on Peruvian destinations, such as Machu Picchu – one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, the Amazon – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the world, Áncash, La Libertad, Lambayeque and Madre de Dios.
On the other hand, the Peruvian stand had an attractive proposal that included tastings of emblematic products, such as pisco and specialty coffee, as well as demonstrations of the preparation of dishes such as ceviche. There were also artistic presentations that showed the cultural richness of the Puno region.
In addition, at the Destination France Bar of IFTM 2025, an exceptional tasting was carried out that brought together the wines of Peru with the renowned wines from the Bordeaux region. This sensory experience, guided by experts in oenology, celebrated the wine wealth of both territories and sought to generate a space for exchange and celebration between Peru and France.
Participation in fairs such as IFTM 2025 is essential to continue consolidating Peru’s positive image internationally. This action reflects the commitment of Mincetur, through PromPerú, with the promotion of receptive tourism, which plays a key role in the economy. In addition, its economic impact is positive at all levels of the tourism industry, benefiting not only the direct actors of the sector, but also local communities, which contributes to a more equitable and sustainable development in our country.
