The 2025 edition of #CataratasDay will feature celebrations that will include special attractions, extended hours and free admission for the local community, celebrating its 14 years as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
The Iguazú National Park will hold events on Sunday, November 9 to commemorate Cataratas Day. The conservation unit will open earlier, at 8:00 a.m., with a special program for tourists and residents.
This year marks the 14th anniversary of the designation of the Iguazú Falls as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the World, a title it received on November 11, 2011 through a global public vote.
Residents of Foz do Iguaçu and the other 13 municipalities surrounding the park will have free admission and are invited to celebrate with a visit on November 9, demonstrating their pride and sense of belonging to the Iguazú National Park.
In 2025, the campaign adopted the slogan “A Wonder for All”. On social networks, those who have already visited this Natural Heritage of Humanity can share photos with the official hashtag #CataratasDay2025.
Special programming
To make the experience in the park more interactive, there will be panels for selfies at strategic points, in addition to an interactive mural with illustrations to color.
Among the special attractions of #CataratasDay 2025, visitors will be able to enjoy musical performances in various areas of the park, such as the Cocar Restaurant, at the entrance, and the Porto Canoas Space, located at the end of the Waterfalls Trail.
Local Producers Fair
At the beginning of the tour, in the visitor center of the park, visitors will be welcomed with a fair of local producers, which will be open from 9:00 to 16:00. Producers from neighboring cities will offer various artisanal options.
The fair promotes and values the local economy, in addition to providing a unique opportunity to connect with regional culture.
New attractions included in the free admission that day: in addition to the traditional Waterfalls Trail, residents will also be able to enjoy free access to other trails and paths of the park.
Among the options is the Bicycle Trail of the Falls, where you can use your own bike, and those who do not have one can rent one through the Bike Iguaçu service. There is also the São João Circuit, a 2.8 km trail that offers points of historical and cultural interest that narrate the history of the Iguazú National Park, such as the recently inaugurated Espacio Usina. Other options include the Canafístula Trail, the Poço Preto Trail and the Bananeiras Trail.
How to celebrate #CataratasDay
In addition to visiting the park, all those who have already done so are invited to share their best photos of the Iguazu Falls with the official hashtag #CataratasDay2025. This online initiative, which takes place every year in November, aims to highlight the public’s passion and pride for the Iguazu Falls, in addition to allowing more and more people to experience this World Wonder of Nature.
Cities that will have free admission on November 9: residents of Foz do Iguaçu, Santa Terezinha de Itaipu, São Miguel do Iguaçu, Matelândia, Medianeira, Ramilândia, Santa Lúcia, Serranópolis do Iguaçu, Vera Cruz do Oeste, Capanema, Capitão Leônidas Marques, Céu Azul, Lindoeste and Santa Tereza do Oeste have free admission upon proof of residence.
