This was highlighted by Jean-Paul de la Fuente- Director of the New7Wonders Foundation, within the framework of the 14th anniversary of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Each of these 7 destinations chosen on the planet, celebrates today a new year of consecration.

In an unprecedented campaign in 2011, millions of votes from all over the world chose which destinations would be the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the World.

Finally, on November 11, 2011, the New7Wonders Foundation announced the 7 winners:

1. Iguazu Falls (Argentina – Brazil)

2. Amazonas (South America)

3. Ha Long Bay (Vietnam)

4. Jeju Island (South Korea)

5. Puerto Princesa Underground River (Philippines)

6. Mesa Mountain (South Africa)

7. Komodo Island (Indonesia)

Since that day, every year, November 11, it becomes a day of celebration, pride, promotion and commitment to the care of the environment, in which each selected destination reminds the planet of the extraordinary natural beauty that catapulted them as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the World.

In this context, the Director of the New7Wonders Foundation, Jean-Paul de la Fuente said: “Today marks 14 years since the world came together to choose the New 7 Wonders of Nature – seven plus seven years of shared global natural heritage. Let us celebrate how this campaign remains a leading example of what’s best in humanity – and our curiosity and capacity for wonder. The New 7 Wonders of Nature continues to remind us that our most beautiful and inspiring connection is to the planet we call home”.
