The Iguazú Falls – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, registered 199,380 tourists from 132 countries in November. This is the highest number of visits in more than a century. The result represents an increase of 3.42% in the last month of the year, reaching 192,796, as well as the record of visitors of 2019, when 196,685 visitors were registered in a single year, 1.37%.
Mario Macedo Junior, general manager of the concessionaire company Urbia Cataratas, explains that “the increase in visits is the result of joint efforts, in addition, people increasingly seek contact with nature, and visiting the park is a perfect opportunity for that.”
The total number for the year is 1,859,586 people, which implies an increase of 9.18% compared to the period between January and November 2024, when 1,703,243 visitors visited the Iguazu Falls on the Brazilian side.
