In order to increase the tourist flow to the country, the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPerú), an entity attached to Mincetur, participated in the VIII Tourism Macrowheel of the Pacific Alliance 2026, held in Armenia-Colombia, on April 23 and 24.
In the opportunity, the destinations promoted were Amazonas – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the world, Arequipa, Áncash, Cajamarca, Cusco – where Machu Picchu is located, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, La Libertad, Ica, Lambayeque, Lima, Loreto, Madre de Dios, Piura, Puno and Tumbes.
This event was held with the purpose of promoting the marketing of tourist destinations in the member countries of the Pacific Alliance (Peru, Chile, Colombia and Mexico), encouraging travel at the intra-regional level and establishing a bridge with China, a strategic market that also participated in the macro-wheel with 10 buyers.
The Peruvian delegation, made up of representatives of 24 Peruvian tourism companies, also had the participation of the commercial economic advisor of PromPerú in Colombia, Julio Polanco. They presented the various attractions and travel experiences that the country has in the segments of culture, gastronomy, adventure and nature focused on sustainable tourism.
“Participating in the VIII Tourism Macrowheel of the Pacific Alliance has been a great opportunity to promote the sustainable tourist destinations of the countries of the bloc at the intra-regional level and to have a rapprochement with Chinese entrepreneurs who participated in the event. This has helped us to continue positioning ourselves as a great travel destination that offers unique and diverse experiences,” said the executive chairman of PROMPERÚ, Freddy José María Solano González.
In this edition, member countries made 973 appointments with an estimated business potential of USD 10.7 million.
