The business conference will bring together 40 international tour operators, 40 Peruvian businessmen and 5 specialized media from the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom in the Amazon region – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the world.

The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru) presented the second edition of Peru Outdoor Expo, a specialized meeting that seeks to strengthen the promotion and international marketing of the Peruvian offer of adventure and nature tourism.

The activity will take place from September 25 to October 2 in the Amazon region, giving continuity to the first edition held in Áncash in 2025 and as part of PromPerú’s strategy to diversify the promotion of destinations and tourist experiences.

The event, organized by PromPerú in conjunction with the Peruvian Association of Adventure Tourism, Ecotourism and Specialized Tourism (APTAE), will bring together 40 tour operators and international press media from the United States, Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Chile and Australia, who will hold commercial meetings with 40 Peruvian businessmen.

On this occasion, the Amazon region will be the main headquarters and will show its natural and cultural wealth, as well as adventure and nature experiences in destinations such as the Gocta waterfall and the Kuélap Fortress. In addition to the event and conferences, there will be three familiarization trips to Madre de Dios, Loreto, San Martín and Amazonas, and two press trips to specialized media from the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom.

The event was attended by the Executive President of PromPerú, Teresa Mera Gómez; the President of the Peruvian Association of Adventure Tourism, Ecotourism and Specialized Tourism (APTAE), Francisco Basili; the representative of the Lima Coordination Office of the GORE of Amazonas, Anderson Santillán; and the Commercial Manager of ATSA Airlines, Christian Gutiérrez.

With initiatives such as Peru Outdoor Expo 2026, PromPerú, an entity attached to Mincetur, reaffirms its commitment to the diversification of the Peruvian tourist offer, strengthening the connection between the international commercial chain and the entrepreneurs of the regions.

 

Peru, a destination with privileged conditions for adventure and nature

Peru has a wide natural and cultural diversity that allows you to develop experiences of trekking, mountaineering, cycling, surfing, trail running and wildlife observation, among other activities.

It is important to mention that the adventure tourist who visited Peru recorded an average expenditure of USD 1,887 in 2025, 11.9% higher than that recorded in 2019 and 26% higher than the expenditure of the conventional tourist.

In addition, this type of tourist usually travels accompanied and plans their trip several days in advance, considering time for acclimatization and the realization of specialized tours.
