This was stated by Le Y Lin, president of the Association of Culture and Tourism of Vietnam in Europe, in reference to the Ha Long Bay – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the world.
In 2025, tourism in Vietnam experienced extraordinary growth, with the arrival of 21.2 million international tourists, which represents an increase of 20.4 percent compared to the previous year, the highest figure recorded to date. And one of the most visited places in the country was Ha Long Bay.
Le Y Lin said that “we had a very good year, with more than 20 million visitors from abroad, especially from Europe, the United States and Asia. In 2025 we have had a boom of international tourists, it was a record year.”
In this context and taking into account the most visited sites, he argued that “Ha Long Bay is a symbol of Vietnam’s natural beauty, it is one of Vietnam’s natural heritages – in addition to one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. And indeed when travelers see Ha Long Bay, they think of Vietnam.”
And he added that in addition to that, there is much more that Vietnam tourism offers to visit, in that sense he mentioned the nature destinations, the offers of sustainable and luxury tourism, the mountains in the north and center, and the many historical sites that the country has.
Safest destination in Asia
For his part, Bui Chinh, a Tour Developer of Vietnam in Europe, said that “in 2026 we will try to attract more international tourists, and the government of Vietnam is investing a lot in increasing the quality of services, visits to destinations because in terms of nature for example, we have from mountains to beaches in the sea, the goal is to exploit the power we have, not only in tourism, but also in gastronomy, in culture and in the history of 4 thousand years that defines us.”
He also stressed that “Vietnam is a country in constant development, and it is a safe country for tourists, it is the safest in Asia. So we hope they get to know us more and come to visit us more in Vietnam.”
It should be remembered that by 2026 Vietnam tourism aims to receive about 25 million foreign tourists and about 150 million national tourists.
