The peak of travel throughout China reaches its peak this Saturday, February 14, with the beginning of the nine-day holiday for the Spring Festival. People take advantage of this date to take walks with friends or family.

Authorities estimate that the number of interregional passenger trips nationwide increased by 1.8% year-on-year, exceeding 270 million. Trips on the national rail network exceeded 15.3 million, and the Shanghai Railway Station recorded its highest daily volume of the season, with 760,000 departures.

Air transport also experienced a strong increase. Hangzhou International Airport, in Zhejiang province, handled more than 960 flights and about 146,000 passenger trips. In addition, new helicopter routes in the Yangtze River Delta are helping to shorten travel times during the peak of holiday travel.

In China, one of the most visited places by regionals and foreigners, is the Great Wall – one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.
