All the excitement of the stadiums and the magic of Mexico will be within reach of the cell phone through the mobile application Mexico Invites, designed by the Government of Mexico so that visitors and inhabitants get to know the country during the FIFA World Cup 2026, in order to promote an economic spill in the 32 federal entities through their cultural, gastronomic and tourist wealth.
This Thursday, the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, and the head of the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency, José Antonio Peña Merino, presented México Invita, a mobile application that will put Mexico’s tourist and cultural offer in the hands of users, as well as various mobility options towards the maximum soccer event.
The head of the Ministry of Tourism pointed out that Mexico Invites represents a tourist service tool that will allow you to plan trips in a simple and accessible way, with the ease of booking tickets for the Mayan Train – which reaches for example the Chichen Itzá, the most visited archaeological site in the country and one of the New 7 Wonders of the World – as well as integrating the tourist and cultural offer, such as museums and archaeological sites, throughout the country and the three World Cup headquarters.
“This application will allow visitors to know more than 290 tourist routes, discover recommendations from our Magic Towns and access useful information to travel Mexico in a safer, more practical and connected way,” said the head of the Ministry of Tourism.
He added that the platform will also incorporate mobility services, emergency telephones and contact with Ángeles Verdes, with the purpose of strengthening attention to national and international tourists during the maximum football match.
Prior to explaining the functionality of Mexico Invita, José Merino, detailed that in collaboration with the Sectur, the ATDT Software Factory developed the app for which a mapping was made and is very complete; in addition to providing information about the matches and once the World Cup joust is concluded, it will remain as a tourism application for the country.
“It offers not only the obvious and general services that a visiting person would require, but also the possibility of exploring inside and outside the cities where all the possibilities of cultural, culinary and public spaces.
Available in English and Spanish for iOS and Android, the application will facilitate the journeys to each World Cup headquarters and will deploy tourist routes to other states, with information to plan routes in a simple way.
