For the first time, this milestone was reached in the first half of the year, which reinforces the projections of a historical record of annual influx.
The Iguazú Falls – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, shared between Brazil (20%) and Argentina (80%), reached the figure of one million visitors, this Sunday, June 14, 2026. This result was achieved on the Brazilian side, almost a month earlier than in 2025, when the number one million visitor was registered in July.
Brazilians top the list of visitors in 2026, with 598,093 registered entries. They are followed by tourists from Argentina (134,435), Paraguay (36,975), the United States (27,442) and Germany (25,573). In total, tourists of more than 180 nationalities have visited the park so far this year.
“Reaching the figure of one million visitors already in June, exceeding last year’s deadlines and achieving this result in the first half of the year, validates the collective effort to offer a sustainable, safe and unforgettable experience. This milestone shows that the Iguazú National Park is increasingly structured, is more attractive and is better prepared to receive visitors from all over the world,” highlights Mario Macedo Junior – executive director of Urbia+Cataratas.
Growth of visitors
The number of visitors to the park has grown significantly in 2026. By June 14, the park had received 1,001,098 visitors in the year, a figure that represents an increase of 13.84% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Between January 1 and June 14, 2025, the park received 879,396 visitors. An experience that goes beyond a single day: in addition to the stunning views of the Falls, the park offers various experiences, such as the São João Circuit, the Waterfalls cycle path, the power plant area and a network of rehabilitated and renovated trails, as well as new exclusive itineraries that allow tourists to admire the Falls at sunrise, sunset or at night. Some of these attractions require separate tickets.
The restaurants Cocar and Canoas Mirim, with capacity for 300 and 120 people respectively, offer dining options for all tastes. On Saturdays, artisans and local producers exhibit and sell their products, thus promoting the integration between tourism, culture and regional development.
