The destination with the Iguazu Falls – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the world – as a protagonist, participates together with the Ministry of Tourism of Misiones in a new edition of GNetwork Buenos Aires, one of the main LGBT marketing and tourism meetings in Latin America, which brings together more than 50 exhibitors from 18 countries.
Iguazú once again values its tourism proposal oriented to the LGBT segment with its participation in a new edition of GNetwork Buenos Aires, which takes place over two days, on August 27 and 28.
The meeting brings together references, destinations, companies and professionals specialized in LGBT tourism from different countries in the region and the world.
In this context, Iguazú with the Iguazú Falls – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the world – as the protagonist, participates with the province of Misiones, sharing a space from which the diversity of proposals offered by the destination is presented, internationally recognized for its natural attractions, its tourist infrastructure and its ability to provide high quality experiences to different profiles of travelers.
The presence in GNetwork is part of a sustained strategy of promotion and positioning of Iguazú in a segment that is becoming increasingly relevant within international tourism.
In this regard, the president of ITUREM- Leopoldo Lucas, stressed, “we continue working on the positioning of the Iguazú destination in the LGBT segment. We are members of the Argentine Chamber of LGBT Tourism and we have maintained a continuous representation in GNetwork for the past few years.”
Iguazú’s participation in this edition also incorporates a specific theme related to tourism of LGBT celebrations and weddings, broadening the view of the possibilities offered by the destination.
As a novelty Lucas added “on this occasion, in addition to presenting the destination as partners with a desk, we will address the theme of LGBT weddings for people from all over the world, demonstrating our commitment to diversity and inclusion in tourism.”
The proposal seeks to show that Iguazú in addition to being a destination of great natural attractions, is also a place capable of offering personalized experiences, quality services, gastronomic proposals, hotels and unique scenarios for celebrations and special events.
A strategic segment for tourism
The commitment to this market also responds to its growing importance within international tourism activity. According to data released by UN Tourism, the LGBT segment represents about 10% of world tourism and has an average level of spending higher than that of the general tourist.
For destinations, this implies an opportunity that goes beyond attracting visitors, it is about developing products, services and experiences capable of responding to the expectations of a diverse, demanding public with an important potential for tourist consumption.
“Iguazú is a natural destination, with exclusive services highly coveted by the segment, and occupies a privileged place within the country with the intention of visiting this sector,” Lucas said.
And he highlighted that participation in GNetwork reaffirms a promotion policy that seeks to consolidate Iguazú as a diverse, inclusive destination prepared to receive travelers from all over the world, strengthening its presence in specialized markets and generating new opportunities for the tourist development of the destination.
