The flow rate of the Iguazu River has increased to ten times its normal level, offering visitors a breathtaking landscape where the power of the water takes center stage.

In this context, the Iguazú National Park and the Iguazú Argentina Service Concessionaire, report that this Wednesday, October 14, an opening of the Falls Area will be carried out with circulation restrictions to the Lower and Upper Circuits, given the level of flood recorded in recent days. Security restrictions were also implemented on the Brazilian side.

Projections indicate high volumes in the flow for Wednesday, above the safety standards determined to travel through the walkways and balconies. As long as this special situation continues, access to trails and walkways that lead to the jumps will be disabled according to the current safety protocol.

Due to the increase in the flow, a comprehensive monitoring of the Iguazú River in the area was implemented, whose impact caused a direct affectation in the nautical operation of the Port of Iguazú and the preventive closure of Route 101 and the Green and Macuco Trails of the Iguazú National Park.

The analysts of the ENOS meteorological phenomenon predict new pulses of intermittent floods in the main rivers of the region, a dynamic that will be repeated during the period of seasonal rains until the water basins of the Iguazu trinational macro zone stabilize.

This Wednesday, October 14, the services of the Cataratas area that will be provided normally are: the operation of the Yvyrá Retá Visitor Center, the Yaguareté Territory space and the gastronomic and commercial premises.

On the other hand, other excursions and the varied offer of the gastronomic sector of the restaurants El Fortín and La Selva, and the Gran Meliá Hotel, are enabled. Given these special conditions, tourist providers and visitors are reiterated to continue to be informed only through official channels, to be aware of the news that may occur and plan their experience in the best way.
