On November 11, Iguazú will celebrate a new anniversary of the international recognition of the Falls with a special experience: the inauguration of the Iguazu Falls Magic Portal, which will bring visitors from both countries closer, allowing them to interact from both sides of the border. The day in the Iguazú National Park will include music, regional dances and activities for tourists.
The Iguazú Falls will celebrate a special anniversary next Wednesday, November 11: it is 15 years since they were chosen as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. To commemorate the date, Puerto Iguazú will be the scene of a new edition of the #CataratasDay, whose main novelty will be the inauguration of the Iguazú Magic Portal, a proposal that will connect Argentina and Brazil through a shared experience between visitors from both countries.
The initiative seeks to bring together those who visit the Falls from both sides of the border and value the binational character of this natural heritage, which unites both countries through one of the most extraordinary landscapes on the planet.
A day to celebrate in the Iguazú National Park
The inauguration of the Iguazú Magic Portal is scheduled for 10 am on Wednesday, November 11, as part of a program that will take place between 9 and 5 pm in the Iguazú National Park.
In addition to this experience, visitors will be able to participate in different commemorative activities. There will be spaces to photograph yourself with the official bodies of #CataratasDay, with a special invitation to share the images on social networks and join the celebration.
Music and regional culture will also have their place, with performances of dances and music that will accompany tourists during the day.
The closing of the official celebration will take place at 6 pm at the Iguazú Grand Hotel, where an institutional event and a commemorative cocktail will be held for the 15th anniversary of the Iguazú Falls as a Natural Wonder of the World.
Fifteen years of worldwide recognition
On November 11, 2011, the Iguazu Falls were chosen as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, after an international vote organized by the Swiss foundation New7Wonders. The campaign called millions of people from different countries and represented a historical recognition for this natural heritage shared by Argentina and Brazil.
Since then, #CataratasDay is celebrated every year to remember that choice, renew pride in the Falls and promote their conservation and international tourist projection.
Fifteen years after that recognition, Iguazú proposes a celebration that combines nature, culture and innovation. The Magic Portal will be the symbol of this edition: an invitation to meet beyond the borders and to share, from both countries, the experience of visiting one of the most admired natural wonders in the world.
On November 11, the Iguazú Falls will once again be the protagonists of a celebration that transcends borders and summons Argentines and visitors from all over the world to discover and enjoy this extraordinary destination.
