After almost six months of closure, the Wonder of the World located in México reopened its doors to tourists. The authorities planned a gradual reopening of archaeological zones and museums in Yucatan that began on Monday, September 14.

 

According to an official statement, the reopening followed strict sanitary measures in order to guarantee the safety of staff and visitors. Through the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) Yucatán Center, the health protection guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health will be applied to all archaeological sites.

 

Chichén Itzá operates at 30% of its usual capacity, and authorities hope that 3.000 people will visit it per day. The archaeological zones will open from Monday to Sunday , from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
