West Manggarai authorities are encouraging tourists visiting the Komodo National Park to make an online reservation with a registered local travel agency or tour operator, as a way to promote new jobs opportunities.
According to the president of West Manggarai Tourism and Culture Agency, Agustinus Rinus, “the online registration system implemented at the national park since September last year aimed to help increase the capacity of local tour operators”. All tourists should register online prior to their visit using the services of registered local travel agencies.
However, for those who were unable to book prior arriving the Komodo National Park Agency spokesperson Muhammad Iqbal Putera said offline registration was still available.
