The state of Yucatán -home to Chichén Itzá, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World- announced the creation of biosecurity bubbles as a new way to face the pandemic while helping tourism.
According to the secretary of tourism for Yucatán, Michelle Fridman Hirsch, the biosecurity bubbles will implement a series of certification for touristic brands, services and companies so that every tourist can expect the same standards from start to finish throughout their vacation.
Yucatán is committed to provide safety to tourists while taking care of the environment. Fridman stated that “we developed a plan making a sustainable development for tourism in Yucatan. Being such a rich state, with all of our culture and the natural resources, we need to take care of what makes us so rich”.
