The New 7 Wonder of Nature Jeju Island launched a new tourism campaign that aims to promote the less known spots across the Island instead of the most popular alternatives using big data to offer a better experience.

The Slow Road campaign was launched in a joint work between the Jeju Tourism Organisation and Cheil Worldwide, and it analized over 65.000 points across the Island using big data such as information from social media and online searches via demographics, weather and time.

The final result is a recommendation of 50 routes that connect popular attractions with less known spots in seven different regions. Each route contains several spots to offer a wide selection of scenic routes to attract different travellers throughout the seasons.

According to the president of Jeju Tourism Organisation, Eun-Sook Koh, “We developed the Slow Road campaign to raise awareness about the diverse beauty of Jeju, and to help safe travels by guiding travellers to different parts of the island while dispersing tourists that were usually concentrated in only a few famous attractions. Since a large portion of the local economy relies on tourism, we hope this campaign will also help balance development between regions by broadening tourist attractions”.
