The New 7 Wonder of Nature located in South Africa, Table Mountain, has finished the restoration work carried out after a fire in the Rhodes Memorial sector last April and has officially reopened the burnt areas.
According to Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) Park Manager, Frans van Rooyen, “the rehabilitation work started immediately after the fire with attention given to both restoring access as well as the natural elements. Now, three months after the fire, fynbos recovery is showing great progress and mountain lovers can once again look forward to their favourite hikes and to see the wonders of fynbos”.
Since the wildfire ravaged over 600 hectares of land, the park management pointed out that there are determined areas that are still under work such as the Rhodes Memorial, the Deer Park and the Game Camp.
