During the rest of August and September, the country of the Puerto Princesa Underground River -one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature-, will host a virtual job fair to support the recovery of local tourism.
The project is part of a joint work between the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP). Originally first created in September 2020, the fair’s main purpose is to replace jobs that were lost during the pandemic, particularly those in the tourism industry.
Philippine’s Tourism Secretary, Berna Romulo-Puyat, expressed her gratitude to everyone involved and said that “the virtual job fair series will help tourism workers who lost their jobs regain their livelihood and resume their career growth, which will then translate into higher economic activities for the country”.
