To remember and commemorate the 10 years of the 11 November 2011, the New7Wonders Foundation together with the Ministry of Tourism of Misiones, held a meeting between the main representatives of the Puerto Iguazú tourism sector.
Authorities also invited people visiting Iguazú to join the festivities, remembering their experience through a post of their favorite photo in Iguazu with the hashtags #IguazuDay and #CataratasDay and contribute to make the Wonder a worldwide trend in social networks.
The central meeting was held at the Interpretation Center of the Iguazú National Park and had the presence of the Minister of Tourism of Misiones, José María Arrúa; the New7Wonders Director, Jean Paul De La Fuente; and the president of the Puerto Iguazú Chamber of Tourism, Jorge Bordin. Argentina’s Ministry of Tourism, Matías Lammens, also sent his greetings to the entire community with a video that highlighted the importance of the Iguazu Falls as one of the great attractions that the country has to promote as one of the most important tourist destinations in the world.
During these ten years, Iguazú has been a silent witness of the transit of more than one and a half million people per year in its best pre-pandemic era. It also experienced the strange loneliness when the pandemic struck the reality of the entire world. And now, it is seen to emerge again stronger than ever, leading the lists of favorite destinations of all the world’s agendas.
