During the ITB Berlin event, representatives from Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism handed over three new brochures to Malaysia’s ambassador to Germany, Dr. Adina binti Kamarudin, in a symbolic gesture. These leaflets showcased a wide range of attractions that cater to the interests of different types of visitors, whether they are nature lovers, seeking city tours, or prefer adventure challenges.
This marks Malaysia’s fiftieth participation in the ITB Berlin event, which is a significant milestone for the country. The brochures, which carry the slogan ‘Malaysia – Truly Asia,’ feature the attractions that await travellers.
One of the leaflets is dedicated to Kuala Lumpur, voted among the New 7 Wonders Cities, and a place boasting of an impressive skyline, shopping malls, museums, parks, restaurants, and a vibrant cultural scene. Another brochure featured Malaysia’s beaches, including popular archipelagos such as Langkawi, Penang, Pangkor, and Terengganu, with clear blue waters and white sands. The third brochure catered to adventurers, offering various trips to mountains, rivers, or caves to explore the country’s diverse natural attractions.
Additionally, a five-minute image film was presented to create an impressive atmosphere. Malaysia is anticipating a boost in tourism numbers in 2023, primarily from Europe. This year’s ITB Berlin event has 68 attendees from 40 organisations representing the country.
