The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Tourism Organization (KTO) will hold the “Korea Bucket List” from September 1 to November 10, an event where about 20,000 foreign tourists will be able to experience the various charms of Korea.
One of the favorite places of tourists in South Korea is Jeju Island, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Jeju is the largest volcanic island in the country. Officially called Special Autonomous Province of Jeju, this main tourist destination has a temperate climate next to beaches, waterfalls, cliffs and caves with incomparable scenic beauty.
To participate in any of the events of the “Korea Bucket List”, foreign tourists must enter the official website at http://koreabucketlist.com, and select one of the 36 options offered.
It should be noted that it must be applied on the dates established for each round, as indicated below: first round from September 1 to 15 (applications will be received from August 13 to 21); second round from September 16 to 30 (applications will be received from August 29 to September 8); third round from October 1 to 15 (applications will be received from September 12 to 22) and the fourth round from October 16 to November 10 (applications will be received from September 26 to October 6).
For example, events to experience Korean culture are divided into key topics such as the Korean wave, Korean history and traditions, Korean cosmetic products and regions, which will offer a wide variety of items, including a voucher to be able to practice dance in a studio of a famous group, one to record K-pop songs, one to participate in a Korean food class in a traditional market, one to make a stay in a Korean Buddhist temple, one to receive hairdressing and makeup services, and one to stay in a wellness resort.
In addition, 100 round-trip plane tickets are provided, so that foreign tourists can explore various areas outside Seoul. The winners will depart from Gimpo International Airport and go to Yeosu Airport, in Jeollanam-do province; Pohang Gyeongju Airport, in Gyeongsangbuk-do province; and Jeju International Airport, on Jeju Island.
Selected foreign tourists will also receive tickets to be able to rent a hanbok (traditional Korean suit) for free, and others to be able to visit the theme parks or to rent the necessary items to have a picnic in the Yeouido Park of the Hangang River, in the Yeongdeungpo-gu district of Seoul. They will also be able to receive transport cards printed with a photo of Korean singer Cha Eun-woo, who has been appointed as promotional ambassador for the Year of the Visit to Korea.
