PROMPERÚ and Volaris signed a strategic alliance through which the Mexican airline will offer flights at promotional prices, which are expected to transport more than 20,000 passengers from Mexico to Peru and vice versa by October.
Among the most popular tourist sites in Peru are the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, and tours on the Amazon River – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
In Mexico, one of the most visited places is Chichén Itzá – one of the main archaeological sites of the Mayan culture – which has been part of the New 7 Wonders of the World since 2007. The Peruvian Export and Tourism Promotion Commission (PROMPERÚ) stated that they signed a strategic alliance with the Mexican airline Volaris “with the aim of having more Mexican travelers come to our country and get to know its main attractions.”
To this end, Volaris will make flights to Peru available to passengers in the Mexican market at promotional prices.
As part of the promotional actions, an advertising campaign will be carried out on Mexican radio stations and there will also be outdoor advertising through 3 digital screens and 30 advertising posters in Mexico City. This campaign will focus on promoting the tourist attractions of Lima and Cusco.
The strategic alliance seeks to achieve competitive advantages by developing joint advertising activities to promote and market the tourist destination of Peru based on a diversified offer of air tickets, enhancing international air connectivity to our country and strengthening its image and positioning abroad.
“With this strategic alliance, in force from this month until October of this year, it is expected to mobilize more than 20,000 Mexican passengers to the country” said PromPerú.
Volaris is an ultra-low-cost airline (ULCC), with operations in Mexico, the United States, Central America and South America. Its headquarters are in Mexico and it is one of the 3 most important airlines in that country, along with Aeroméxico and Viva Aerobus.
