The Vietnamese province of Quang Ninh, where Ha Long Bay is located, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature and World Heritage Sites, is actively working to achieve its goal of receiving 19 million visitors in 2024, including 3.5 foreigners.
It should be remembered that on October 21, the province had received the number 3 million international tourist, and at the end of the same month 16.8 million visitors were registered in total.
The vice president of the provincial Popular Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh asked the tourism sector to make more efforts to achieve this goal, improve its attractiveness through various events, and popularize new products such as cruises and comprehensive travel packages to key destinations within the province.
Since domestic tourism generally slows down at the end of the year, attention has shifted to the increase in international visitors.
Positive signals are emerging from the markets of South Korea and Taiwan, China, with numerous reserves for Ha Long Bay, approaching the peaks before the Covid-19 pandemic. The Chinese market, an important source of tourism for Quang Ninh, is also showing its potential. The Chinese authorities could soon allow day trips to the town of Mong Cai and resume the Beihai-Ha Long cruise route.
According to the deputy director of the local Tourism Service, Nguyen Lam Nguyen, Quang Ninh will receive his first international cruise from the city of Beihai, China, on November 16, and there is another one scheduled for November 18, then more than 10 more are expected by the end of the year.
In addition, a transport company is operating a bus route from Nanning, China, to Bai Chay in Quang Ninh, which facilitates a greater flow of visitors.
The number of European and American travelers remains low, influenced by regional conflicts, although interest in night cruises in Ha Long is increasing. Meanwhile, emerging markets such as India, the Philippines and Malaysia are showing strong growth, suggesting that demand will continue in the coming months.
Quang Ninh is expanding its tourist offer by opening three new beaches in Ha Long Bay, organizing cultural shows in selected caves and designating exclusive areas for ultra-luxury tourism.
With these efforts, the province remains optimistic about the possibility of achieving its year-end tourism goals and further consolidating itself as a top-class destination in Vietnam.
