The announcement of the collaboration agreement between Ifema, the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico and CREA has taken place at the stand in Mexico within the framework of the International Tourism Fair, Fitur Madrid 2025.

Mexico will star in 2026 at the International Tourism Fair as a Fitur Partner Country, as announced at the country’s stand by José Vicente de los Mozos, president of the Executive Committee of Ifema; Daniel Martínez, Executive Vice President of Ifema; Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico; and Eduardo Martínez Garza, General Director of CREA. Likewise, Quirino Ordaz Coppel, ambassador of Mexico to Spain together with the delegation of governors; Arancha Priede, general director of Fair Business and Congresses of Ifema Madrid; and María Valcarce, director of Fitur Madrid.

The collaboration agreement by which Mexico will hold the category of Partner Country Fitur Madrid 2026 during the 46º edition of the Madrid International Tourism Fair, will allow the country to enhance its international positioning, boost the promotional potential of its wide tourist offer and project itself to the world.

This alliance, announced within the framework of Fitur Madrid 2025, marks a turning point in the impressive trajectory that Mexico has followed in recent years in the tourism sector, consolidating itself as an international reference and one of the most visited destinations in the world, having received according to figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) of Mexico more than 40 million international tourists until November 2024.

This remarkable growth of Mexico, driven by government and business efforts, places the country in a privileged situation to maximize its presence in important global platforms, such as that represented by the International Tourism Fair, where they present to the global tourism industry and the traveler the vast tourist, cultural, heritage and gastronomic riches of its 32 states and 177 Magic Towns. In addition to highlighting the Chichen Itza, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, located in the state of Yucatan.

This collaboration thus becomes a unique opportunity to present to the world the diversity and potential of Mexico, backed by the first world fair and the main hub of the tourism industry in Latin America.

In the words of José Vicente de los Mozos, “this alliance strengthens ties between Spain and Mexico and also means the beginning of an exciting exercise in which we will join efforts to support the promotion of the vast tourist wealth of Mexico in FITUR, recognized today as the most important fair in the world both for participation and attendance.”

For her part, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, has emphasized that “the greatness of Mexico extends throughout the world and today we announce that Mexico will be a guest country for Fitur Madrid 2026. The most important thing is that today we do not arrive alone, everyone arrives, artisans, dancers, traditional cooks, entrepreneurs, 32 states and their magical and original peoples … through tourism we build bridges between the sister nations, we generate shared prosperity for all by promoting the development of the communities and their people. Long live Mexico”.
