The agreement seeks to promote tourism between both nations as well as actions of bilateral benefit between Cuba and Turkey. It was signed by the general director of marketing for the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) of the Island, Bárbara Cruz Rodríguez, and Mustafá Dogan, vice president of sales for America for Turkish Airlines
The minister stressed that the airline connection with Turkish Airlines will have an important impact on the transfer of tourists to the island from Turkey and from other countries. Turkey constitutes an important tourist market for Cuba that rises every year, achieving in 2018 to move more than 17.000 tourists from the nation to Cuba.
