Iguazu Falls, One of the New7Wonders of Nature, has set in 2015 a new record of tourist arrivals not only on the Argentinian side, but also on the Brazilian one.
In Argentina, Iguazu Falls, received 1.381.736 tourists that visited the Iguazu National Park, breaking its own record compared with 2012.
For the first time, in 2012, the “Wonder Effect” was felt, after achieving that title on November 11th, 2011, where the most popular destination in the Province of Misiones was elected and declared One of the New7Wonders of Nature through a worldwide global voting platform where hundred of millions of people participated. It was organized by the Swiss-based New7Wonders Foundation.
In 2015 -on the Brazilian side- the Iguazu Falls received a total of 1.642.093 tourists from 172 different nationalities. Iguazu Falls Bird Park, another important tourist attraction located in Foz do Iguacu, also reached record numbers as it received 780.605 visitors, a 47% of the total numbers of tourists that visited the Iguazu Falls. Visiting Iguazu Falls Bird Park allows you to be in touch with more than a thousand birds of 150 different species.
Iguazu Falls actively participates in the International Promotion Program of the New7Wonders of the World called “Visit7Wonders”, with the sponsorship of Itaipú Binacional and the Province of Misiones.
