The growth of tourism in Vietnam is the result of an effort made by the government in order to promote an attractive tourism industry, in addition to understand and solve the challenges that arise along the way. These include a limited visa policy compared to other countries, according to the Global Tourism Competitiveness Report in terms of visa requirements, with Vietnam being the lowest among the ASEAN countries.
Currently, the country has 25.600 accommodations suitable for tourists, with more than 508.000 rooms. This is an increase of 12% of the total accommodation and 11% of the total number of rooms compared to 2016.
According to an article written by The Asean Post, Vietnam and Southeast Asia in general should take advantage of this growth and use it to position themselves as one of the best destinations for international tourism.
