The pieces belong to the collection of the Qatari Al Thani family and show the «Splendor of the Maharajas and the Mogul Empire», as explained by the famous Christie’s auction house.

The owner of the auction house explained that the Al Thani collection «follows the history of jewelry from early Mogul India through the collaboration of the Maharajas with the most renowned jewelers, with which they created some of the most exceptional pieces ever made».

The eccentric objects are valued in a wide range of between 10.000 dollars and 10 million. The Al Thani family will allocate part of the funds raised next Wednesday to the exhibition of their pieces in a new museum that will open in Paris next year.
