In Vietnam, home to New 7 Wonder of Nature Ha Long Bay, the Union of Young Communists Ho Chi Minh (UJCHCM) in Ho Chi Minh City, carried out different activities to promote the Earth Hour 2020.
Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature. It’s the world’s largest grassroots movement to promote environmental care, involving around 7,000 cities in 172 countries.
These activities aim to increase public awareness of climate change, the importance of energy saving and protection of the environment.
The deputy secretary of the municipal Executive Committee of UJCHCM, Ngo Minh Hai, reported that due to the pandemic generated by the coronavirus, this year the Earth Hour campaign was implemented digitally and through posters displayed throughout the city, without events with big crowds.
