Tourism is the most resilient economic sector, which is why new measures are needed as quickly as possible so that tourism could become one of the escape routes for the economic growth.
The tourism sector has shown 10 years of continuous growth between 2010 and 2019, and independent studies show that tourism at the New 7 Wonders of the World, the New 7 Wonders of Nature and the National 7 Wonders, grows at twice the rate of worldwide tourism. Therefore, the Wonder Tourism will be one of the central engines of re-establishing economic success once the Coronavirus pandemic is over.
The UNWTO website launched “a global call to reach the most disruptive startups, entrepreneurs, innovators and existing technologies to mitigate Covid-19 impacts on tourism through health, economic and destination recovery solutions.”
There are three targets where you can appl: healing for people, healing for prosperity and healing for destinations. The Deadline for candidatures is next 15 April, and 5 days later the UNWTO will make the announcement of the chosen startups.
