Through a virtual event last week, the book “The Day After: Tourism and Humanity” by Gustavo Santos and Michel Durrieu was launched. Gustavo Santos was Minister and Secretary of Tourism of the Argentine Republic between 2015 and 2019 and Michel Durrieu is the Director General of Tourism CRT Nouvelle-Aquitaine and special adviser to the UNWTO on sustainable tourism and territorial development.
As Argentina’s Tourism Minister, Gustavo Santos was an enthusiastic supporter of the New7Wonders officially licensed Natural 7 Wonders of Argentina campaign.
The book offers a reflection on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and its consequences on the tourism industry and on people’s lives. Throughout the book, the authors address different questions and, from their perspective and experience on the subject, achieve a work as current as it is essential to understand what the future of the sector will be like.
The book also has forewords by the Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organization, Zurab Pololikashvili, and the President of the World Travel & Tourism Council, Gloria Guevara. The Day After is currently published in digital format in Spanish and French, with English soon also available.
