In an official statement, the South African National Parks (SANParks) announced how the Table Mountain Cable Car tender process would be in the home of the New 7 Wonder of Nature.
Even though the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company (TMACC) contract is up for renewal in the next four years, the SANParks announcement clarified that the tender process will be “public, open, transparent and able to withstand public scrutiny”.
Table Mountain’s cableway has been run by the same institution for 99 years because of the SANParks’ public-private partnership programme (PPP), “which consist of 54 privately-owned business projects investing in 20 national parks across the country”.
