The administration of Rome’s Colosseum, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, launched the new “PArCo Green” project as a way to develop and protect the natural reserve that encompasses the Roman Forum and Palatine areas.
The launch was made during the National Landscape Day on March 14 and according to the press release, “the project comprises a number of different initiatives, united by the common goal of reducing our environmental footprint and therefore cutting back on pollution and conserving the ecosystem and its biodiversity, promoting a lifestyle in greater harmony with our natural environment, using its resources responsibly and without damaging it”.
According to the director of the Archaeological Park, Alfonsina Russo, the Colosseum is “an unique green heritage in the world. For this reason, we have always worked hard to protect and enhance it, giving our contribution to the growth of a sustainable economy in a broader sense, instilling in our public, and especially in the new generations, the awareness that environmental protection is a task for each of us”.
