The China Tourism Academy launched a press release in which it states that the country home to the Great Wall -one of the New 7 Wonders of the World- expects a revenue of nearly 195 billion USD during the first half of 2021, getting close to pre pandemic numbers.
Official numbers show a 102% growth compared to the tourism movement in 2020 and according to the Director of the China Tourism Agency, Dai Bin, “domestic tourist trips will recover to or even surpass the pre-corona level” during holidays like Labor Day.
Over 1.7 billion domestic trips are expected to be made during the first half of the year, since the CTA recorded 697 million domestic tips during the first quarter of the year.
