Rio de Janeiro is implementing a new compliance program that aims at achieving more transparency at one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, the city’s Christ the Redeemer.
The decision made consist on an agreement signed between the Rio branch of the international accounting firm KPMG and the administration of the Sanctuary of Christ the Redeemer.
The official statement pointed out that the new programme “will train managers to better flag and address suspicious activity and to establish an anonymous hotline for anyone seeking to submit claims or complaints”.
According to the rector of the sanctuary, Rev. Omar Raposo, “with this partnership, Christ the Redeemer becomes an important milestone for establishing ethical relations, committed to values”.
