The country home to the Taj Mahal, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, is presenting its tourism offer in the India Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai, a platform to showcase the greatest and latest innovations from October 2021 to March 2022.

In a joint work between the country’s Ministry of Tourism and representatives of the private sector, India presented two special sessions to promote sustainable tourism and MICE segment: “Tourism at Crossroads – Mainstreaming sustainability for future of tourism” and “Meet in India: Emerging Hub for Business and Social Events”, respectively.

During the Meet in India session, the Ministry of Tourism additional secretary and India Convention Promotion Bureau chairman, Rakesh Kumar Verma stated that “MICE industry is an important contributor to national economies as it contributes to income generation and creates huge employment opportunities, provides an impetus to hospitality services including sectors like accommodation, food and beverages, convention services, transportation, tourism, and entertainment. India possesses excellent convention and hospitality infrastructure, unparalleled cultural, natural attractions and a rapidly growing economy all of which act as catalysts to India emerging as a hub of business and social events”.
